The narrative follows a woman living in a densely populated futuristic city, embarking on a journey of self-discovery. The video achieved resounding success, amassing over 40 million views and earning a spot among YouTube's trending videos, catapulting the artist, Kenia Os, into the spotlight. This project was a significant accomplishment, bringing together a team of over 40 talented artists from across Latin America.
As the director, my role was to ensure seamless coordination across the various aspects of production. I was in constant communication with the leads and supervisors of key areas, including art, animation, ink & paint, and compositing. This allowed me to guide the project holistically, ensuring that all elements aligned with the creative vision. Close collaboration and clear communication were essential, especially when managing feedback from the client (agency, label, and artist) to keep the production running smoothly.
Given the complexity of the project and the size of the team, we implemented structured workflows and strategic planning. From the animatic stage, we designed scenes to be visually impactful yet efficient to animate, while streamlining art and design elements to expedite production. Delegating responsibilities to area supervisors helped ensure effective coordination, enabling us to overcome production challenges and deliver a polished final product.
Throughout the production, I focused on facilitating clear and efficient communication between the client (agency, label, and artist) and the team, streamlining the feedback process. Managing such a sizable team presented logistical challenges, which I addressed by implementing structured workflows. Delegating responsibility to area supervisors helped streamline communication, allowing me to maintain a holistic view of the project and ensure smooth progress.
The final product resonated widely with audiences, garnering over 40 million views and earning a spot on YouTube's trending videos. The success of "La invitación" significantly boosted Kenia Os's profile, solidifying her presence in the music industry and demonstrating the power of compelling visual storytelling in music videos.
"La invitación" was a rewarding project that highlighted the importance of strategic planning, effective team coordination, and adaptive problem-solving. The experience underscored my ability to manage large-scale productions, guiding a diverse team to bring a creative vision to life while maintaining quality and meeting client expectations.
